Before Installing SCG STAY COOL Thermal Insulation to Cool Your Home To achieve maximum efficiency, reduce installation time, and avoid extra work, please check and prepare the following points before our team arrives:
- The attic space must have a minimum height of 1 meter. The roof must be leak-free, and the ceiling must be fully repaired and in good condition.
- The ceiling must be level, not sagging or showing “elephant belly,” with no water stains, cracks, or holes. The ceiling grid/framework must be strong, properly spaced, and not warped. Note: The thickest SCG Stay Cool (150 mm / 6 inches) weighs only 2 kg/m². We recommend the distance from roof to ceiling should not exceed 40 cm for easier installation. If the height is greater, installation is still possible but may incur additional charges (case-by-case basis).
- Prepare a service hatch of at least 45 × 45 cm near beams and free from obstructions so technicians can work easily. For homes without an existing hatch, we will create a permanent access opening in the most suitable location for future maintenance.
- All electrical wiring above the ceiling must be properly installed inside conduit pipes, neatly arranged according to standards, and free from damage or leakage. Any non-compliant or faulty wiring must be repaired first for safety reasons.
Once all the above points are checked and corrected, the installation process will be faster and smoother. If our team finds unprepared areas during the site survey, we will advise on the best solution and may propose additional minor repairs to ensure safe and effective insulation performance.
